Behind Inge’s front door, serene living in Scandinavian style
In this blog, we visit Inge and her family. She has lived here with her husband, their four children, and their dog for many years, happily calling it home. Most of the children have since moved out, and only the youngest still lives at home, but the house remains the familiar heart of the family, a warm home where everyone loves to come together.
A home you never want to leave
Inge works for the local municipality, supporting young people who find it difficult to find their place in the job market. With great enthusiasm, she guides them towards a job that truly suits them. After a day at work, coming home is a pleasure. The family home was extensively renovated in the late nineties, and by now they can’t imagine a better place to live. With the bedroom located on the ground floor, the house is future-proof and perfectly suited for the years ahead. The family is close-knit, and there are even grandchildren who visit regularly. “We are truly never leaving this place,” Inge says with a smile.
Scandinavian interior with a warm twist
Inge’s interior style is a serene mix of Scandinavian ton-sur-ton. She chooses one or two colors and sticks to that palette, giving her home a sense of calm and harmony. The soft shades and natural materials create a warm and inviting atmosphere. For Inge, a peaceful interior is essential.

In the extension, they worked together with an architect to create a cozy living room with a sunken seating area, a space where light and the outdoors come together perfectly. The living room features a generous Sommer corner sofa in Oat Beige. Next to the sofa, the piano plays a central role in the home. Every evening after dinner, her husband plays a piece on the piano, a ritual that has become part of their routine and adds an extra layer of warmth and atmosphere.
"The sofa is truly the heart of our home. We love spending time here as a family, just relaxing and lounging together."
Fragrance, comfort, and creativity
For Inge, living is not just about how things look, but above all about how they feel. Scents play an important role: scented candles and diffusers create a warm and homely atmosphere. The home is also adorned with artworks by her husband, who is an artist. When it comes to interior choices, they are completely in sync.
Inge only started sharing her interior on Instagram in 2020, encouraged by her daughter. “I was actually quite late,” she admits. “But I change things around in the house so often, the dining area, the accessories, the sofa, that sharing it just became fun.” Today, her account has become a source of home inspiration, where she shares her love for interior design with others.
Inspiration
Inge finds interior inspiration everywhere. She enjoys going solo to home stores to discover new ideas and has even formed an interior-focused friends group on Instagram that goes on a day trip to a fun city every year. Her tip for others: “Visit a thrift store or make things yourself. That way, you make your interior unique and give it a personal story.”
